Rolling on W’s

The Wild are finally making some progress in the win department. Don’t get too excited however, they’ve won just two straight games. It’s not phenomenal but from the way their season has been going, definitely a move in the right direction.

Also, their loss in overtime to the Carolina Hurricanes nearly became a win after the Wild climbed their way back from being down two goals twice. They fought to tie it only to lose on a quick snipe over the glove of goaltender Devan Dubnyk.

That loss somehow kicked Minnesota in the butt and they defeated both the Buffalo Sabres and Colorado Avalanche. The Wild have managed to get within two games of .500 and no longer sit in the last place in the league.

Minnesota isn’t very far from the bottom but they’re steadily making improvements. Don’t forget the eventual Stanley Cup Champions of 2019 the St. Louis Blues who were dead-last at the halfway point of last season, managed to storm their way to the top. The Wild still have hope left.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the last two games but watching their game against the Hurricanes was quite impressive. How they managed to charge their way back and continued to stay motivated was something every team needs.

Minnesota will have their hands full in their next game against the Boston Bruins. This test will be on the road in their first of three east coast games. They may have found some luck however with the other two games being against teams who are also close to the bottom of the barrel.

The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils sit in the same boat as the Wild. That could also mean Minnesota will have their hands full with teams that want to climb the rankings just as much as they do.

However, they’ll have to get by the Bruins first and that will for sure be a hands full moment especially being away from home. Hopefully, they can whip up some of the magic from their previous wins and keep that streak going.
