As most of you may know by now, the UND/SCSU series ended up in a North Dakota sweep. It’s the first time since 1998 that UND has been able to sweep SCSU in St. Cloud. Once again St. Cloud was held scoreless as well.
North Dakota took the lead early in the first and rather then scoring all at once, they added one in the second and one in the third to top off their three to nothing victory and claim the first series against the Huskies this season.
Shane Gersich who has been a popular name this weekend added a fourth goal to his total scoring the last goal of the game Saturday night after receiving a hat trick on Friday. UND’s goalie Cam Johnson had another stellar night in between the pipes as he stopped 36 shots and posted his third shutout of the season.
SCSU will have some work ahead of them this week as they get ready to face Western Michigan in Michigan after Thanksgiving break is over and shake off these tough losses. UND will be taking on Michigan State over the Thanksgiving weekend in Grand Forks.
