The Wild were able to claim their ninth victory in one goal fashion in front of their hometown fans. Minnesota beat Boston one to nothing on a third period goal by Finish superstar Mikael Granlund for his fourth goal of the year.
The first two periods were knotted at zero until a late jump by Boston gave them the lead, or so they thought. However, David Backes’ goal was taken back after a coach’s challenge by the Wild’s Bruce Boudreau showed the Bruins were offsides.
That gave the Wild the jump in their step they needed to stay in the game and take a lead of their own. The lead stuck with some great goaltending by Devon Dubnyk who had 25 saves in the game.
The Wild will be at home again on Saturday when they face the Colorado Avalanche at 7pm and look to continue their win steak.
